Each year, SRLA welcomes more than 3,200 middle and high school students at 185 public schools and community programs across Greater Los Angeles to train alongside their teachers to complete the entire Los Angeles Marathon.
What did Christine need?
Each year, SRLA must raise $1.3MM to meet operational expenses. More than 90% goes directly to the program. As some of our institutional funders have changed direction, we need to grow our capacity from the ground up. This campaign and focus will help us raise the money we need to support the more than 3,000 students in SRLA on their journey to the Marathon finish line.

What did James have to offer?
I am a keen runner myself and having played a lot of team sports, I arrived to the sport later in my life (just under two years ago). I believe passionately in the power of running and what it can do for anyone, especially young people. Eliud Kipchoge has taught us "No human is limited" and I truly believe running can teach young people this. Or, as one of your alumnus put it: "If I can run a marathon ... I can do anything!" Having worked with a number of organisations on copywriting projects, I am confident I can translate the message you, Students Run LA, are looking to get across with the Pass The Baton initiative. Ultimately you are looking to balance engagement with action (through fundraising). With my experience I am confident I can help!
