What did Skid Row Housing Trust need?

Carrie helped Skid Row Housing Trust elevate their visual identity with a new or refreshed logo, or other design choices such as colors, font styles, and graphics that reflect their mission and vision.

Why is this project important?

Skid Row Housing Trust is a nonprofit that is always seeking or creating innovative solutions to how we can permanently end homelessness for every resident. The branding guide had many options for the use of the logo, maybe too many. I want us to stand out visually and make sure we have a logo that will speak to our innovative housing designs and solutions and be relevant in the next 5 years at least. It needs to feel modern and anchored to our mission if possible.

This project will save us $4,817, allowing us to spend our time and money on what collateral we need to update once our logos and feeling for the brand is revised.

I live in Seattle with my husband and two girls. When I'm not designing logos I'm exploring the Pacific Northwest with my family, reading a good book, or watching the latest episode of The Crown. I love running, drawing, and making things. I'm also a co-organizer for CascadiaJS. I quit coffee and lived to tell about it.

Fun Fact

Fun Fact

To our knowledge the Star was the first prefab housing complex in 50 years in LA! (Tmelapse: https://youtu be/UtPl4khRKO0) At that building we offer assisted living and therapeutic art activities on the same floor as the walking track and garden. More than 1,800 people call our buildings home.
