I am a non-profit biodiversity conservation practitioner & scientist, educator, grant writer, knowledge manager, who consistently obtains successful outcomes for strategic conservation initiatives including for national marine protected areas network, threatened marine fish & small scale fisheries, climate change & biodiversity, in the Philippines. As recipient of various conservation grants & fellowships including Ford Foundation IFP Fellowship, Rufford Small Grant, Darwin Initiative, I combine rigor & inventiveness of an academic and flexibility & responsiveness of a non-profit professional to successfully generate conservation science useful for policy and practice.

• 9 years non-profit project & program management work experience in Philippines that generated conservation science useful for policy & practice e.g. NBSAP 2015-2028
• Technical expertise in cross-disciplinary conservation issues
• Raised funds ranging from US$55K to US$450K (as Lead) to US$8M (as Member of a Team) from philanthropic/government donors
• Managed projects with multiple teams & collaborators, both local & foreign including for 4-year Darwin Initiative Project & 5-year National Marine Protected Area Network Project
• Built NGO, government & academic collaborations that leveraged impact and influenced policy;
• Strong analytical skills; experience in Access, Statistics using R; certification in basic Bayesian Network Modelling
• Experience in communicating conservation science & key issues: editing books & technical reports, authoring/presenting scientific papers & other knowledge products, both for scientists & general audience; organizing, designing, facilitating workshops on bridging science, conservation & management/policy
• Experience in university teaching & supporting education & outreach in higher education (environmental sciences) & non-profit (conservation science) setting
