Rania D.

UHAB | Urban Homesteading Assistance Board

UHAB empowers low- to moderate-income residents to take control of their housing and enhance communities by creating strong tenant associations and lasting affordable co-ops.

What did Rania need?

Refreshing the image of this 43-year-old affordable housing nonprofit and drawing more attention to our unique work with limited-equity co-ops will help us increase individual donations, foundation and government funding, and our fee-for-service income. An enhanced website will more accurately reflect the range of critical services that UHAB provides to the low- and moderate-income residents of co-ops and distressed rental buildings. Our new website will also function as an interactive platform for strengthening both these buildings and their surrounding communities through the sharing of best practices and a variety of resources.

What did Darryl have to offer?

The approach your organization takes is simple but innovative, and I believe it can be highly effective. I would like to help further your work! In my capacity as Web Developer for Standard and Poor's, I was called on to migrate their "version 1.0" site from a flat file system to a managed content, dynamic site. In incorporating input form various departments, I interviewed users in order to understand business processes, map process flows and translate specifications into functional, finished code. While I have been working primarily as a network technician and administrator, most recently for the Post & Courtier newspaper, I have recently been training as a software developer, and am taking my Bachelor's degree with Western Governors University.
