Community Engagement Director; specialty is developing transformational/catalytic service projects aligned with organizational objectives and coordinating logistics in partnership with community benefit organizations to improve the long term health of communities. Expertise in providing simultaneous analytical support to multiple, geographically disparate, sponsored programs and campaigns with various cross-functional / interregional teams ; skilled at developing, writing, and editing CSR and other reports, developing communications plans for projects; supports individual and team efforts by encouraging, influencing and engaging others with different backgrounds, experiences, and points of view and building a team-based work environment ; identifies and establishes productive relationships with direct reports, peers, cross functional/ cross regional colleagues.

I have a passion for developing transformational/catalytic service projects that create a lasting impact on communities long after the volunteers and staff on a project have said goodbye and become friends on social media sites. I am interested in creating projects that are aligned with organizational objectives and coordinating logistics in partnership with community benefit organizations to improve the long term health of communities. I have expertise in providing simultaneous analytical support to multiple, geographically disparate, sponsored programs and campaigns with various cross-functional / interregional teams ; developing communications plans for projects; supporting individual and team efforts by encouraging, influencing and engaging others with different backgrounds, experiences, and points of view and building a team-based work environment . My clearest conviction is that all the most successful work I have done to date is due to strong personal relationships of trust and mutual respect and shared commitment to social justice and equity.

About Malama Kauai

Founded in 2006, Malama Kaua’i is a community-based, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that focuses on advocating, educating, and driving action towards a sustainable Kaua’i. We consider the interrelatedness of all issues and the need for a holistic approach, with a focus on three primary areas:

‘Aina. We are rooted in the core value of aloha ‘aina (love and connection to the land). We create solutions that foster sustainability and work in harmony with nature while producing abundant, healthy and local food.

Community. We care for our children, our economy, our society and our island’s future. We envision a Kaua’i where people enjoy a high quality of life and the sense of community is strong.

Culture. We are built on healthy relationships with each other and our kinship with the land. We respect and perpetuate the local culture and indigenous wisdom of our ancestors.
