What did Child Welfare Organizing Project need?

Emily helped Child Welfare Organizing Project * Creating a consistent and compelling brand * Expert advice on how to manage your brand

Why is this project important?

CWOP is an organization cobbled together by its clients, affected by the child welfare system. It has never had a communications plan that targets both parents, the child welfare system, and funders. By working on a comprehensive and consistent branding strategy with you, our goal is to set the stage up for a communications plan in future that will help achieve increased awareness of CWOP and it's mission. Furthermore, it will help CWOP to increase its prominence among affected families and funders, eager to provide resources but not always certain of what CWOP does because of a lack of consistent messaging and PR.

This project will save us $3,600, allowing us to activate 40 parent advocate leaders across the city.

Hi, my name is Emily. I live and work in NYC, doing Communications and Change Management for Brooks Brothers, the retail company. I have been proud to call this city my home for the last 4 years, during which I finished my degree in Economics at NYU. Aside from my job, I spend my time trying to soak up as much as I can of the incredibly rich culture, diversity and excitements that this city has to offer.

I also paint, care for a large collection of plants in my small apartment, and work with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of NYC. The incredible fulfillment that I have gotten as my involvement in BBBS has expanded is what motivated me to look in to additional volunteer projects, and ultimately set up this profile.

I grew up in a rural eastern Connecticut town, and began my college career at Bentley, the business school just outside of Boston. Recognizing that my heart was set on New York, I transferred to NYU. I subsequently spent one semester studying in Madrid and another studying in London, and graduated here in the city.

Fun Fact

Fun Fact

CWOP is a self-help and advocacy organization of parents who have had contact with the New York City child welfare system. Most of our staff and board have been affected by the welfare system. CWOP's clients frequently find themselves disenfranchised by a system where they are voiceless.
