Marcus helped San Francisco Education Fund * Creating a consistent and compelling brand * Expert advice on how to manage your brand

Why is this project important?

We place more than 400 volunteers that serve in schools weekly--they have great stories and it could be powerful to not just share their stories but to empower them to share our larger story. San Francisco has been on the cutting edge of so many movements--why can't strong public schools be the next great social challenge we conquer?!

This project will save us $3,600, allowing us to support 160 K, 1st and 2nd graders so they read proficiently or advanced by third grade.

My name is Marcus Rountree, I began my career as a 6th grade science teacher and fully understand the importance of education. After leaving academia, I received my MBA in marketing from North Carolina State University. While in business school, I created a brand called Swag4Life and brought our products to market. My current role is in the corporate marketing department at Lowe's as a Private Brands and Category Marketing Specialist. In this role, I manage the Blue Hawk and Project Source private brands while supporting the overall marketing activities for Tools, Hardware, Rough Plumbing and Electrical. I think this is a very rewarding project and hope to get the opportunity to help a great cause.
