What did Bailey's Cafe need?

Jen helped Bailey's Cafe

Why is this project important?

Bailey's is not an organization with a singe focus which sometimes complicates our ability to present, in a clear and concise manner, especially to prospective donors whose life style is very different from the people we serve, exactly what we do and why. Having a pitch deck that meets this need and doesn't sacrifice the importance of our diverse mission will be a great asset to both the staff and the board.

This project will save us $5,422, allowing us to afford rent for a home of our own, engaging 300 community members in creative and empowering activities.

"Being good in business is the most fascinating kind of art. Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art."
- Andy Warhol

After a career as a classical violist and music business entrepreneur, I dreamed of combining my loves of creativity and business to become a brand and product manager. Enter the VCU Brandcenter, the country's number one advertising and brand management graduate program - in 2013, I graduated with my MS in Creative Brand Management. During my two years at the Brandcenter, I led creative teams in solving real-world business challenges for Fortune 500 clients.

In one of the highlights of my time at the Brandcenter, I led a cross-functional team that won the International MBA Innovation Challenge. A once-in-a-lifetime experience, we beat 186 teams from schools like Stanford, Wharton, and Harvard, and I closed the New York Stock Exchange. After the competition, I was hired by AT&T's The Innovation Pipeline (TIP) group where I am currently a Sr. Product Manager. Pitching got me to AT&T, and it is my passion.

- Pitch Deck development and design for clients such as:
Delta Airlines, Coca-Cola, AT&T, Nabisco, Google, Mars, Carlos Museum, Physicians for Peace, and more

Fun Fact

People tend to "get" Bailey's right away or not. Turning around those who don't "get" us right away has always been a big challenge. Having a simple accessible tool to use in these situations would be wonderful!
