What did Filipino Advocates for Justice need?

Timothy helped Filipino Advocates for Justice * A way to raise money from individuals online * A how-to on crowdfunding * Creating an engaging online crowdfunding campaign * A fundraising campaign

Why is this project important?

We find that more and more funders are requiring their grantees to match all or part of their grants to us. We have had some limited success in raising funds through our end of the year appeal, but that's about it. We need to hone this skill for our future survival. In the short term, we need to be more active in the evolving domestic worker movement. We are a member of the National Domestic Worker Alliance and feel it is very important to send staff and workers to their National Conference in April 2014. This project will help us raise the funds to attend the conference, and also teach us how to best utilize crowdfunding as a tool for the future.

This project will save us $3,500, allowing us to expand our base by 25 domestic workers/care givers.

Fun Fact

We celebrated our 40th anniversary this past June. It has been a roller coaster ride through economic hard times and foundations changing their funding priorities. We need to add fundraising from our base, in large and small donations, to our skill-set if we are to survive another 40 years!

This is the 1st project posted by Filipino Advocates for Justice.
