Ken has over 7 years of experience as a filmmaker, creative director and strategist. He is an award winning filmmaker; with his most recent films being show on PBS (You’re Looking At Me) and Virgin America InFlight Entertainment (Marine Mammal Center video.)

Ken engineered Truth Be Told to live at the intersection of creativity and making the world a better place. Besides filmmaking he has cultivated his passion for creative development and consumer insights. His formative training was as a brand strategist but quickly got frustrated handing off briefs for someone else to develop work around the insights he uncovered. His research and creative ideations have lead to a variety of award winning, global campaigns. These experiences have enabled him to grow his expertise at the craft of communications and documentary film. He is driven by his insatiable curiosity and has honed his interests to create stories with meaning and impact.

His talents are centered around telling meaningful and compelling stories and he has done so for clients like the Marine Mammal Center, MINI Cooper, Google, Microsoft, Reutlinger Center For Alzheimers, Source For Change and Lucas Arts. He as worked at a variety of creative ad shops like TBWA/Chiat/Day, Goodby, Silverstein, and Butler, Shine and has specialized in anthropological research, distilling the information he uncovers through ethnographic studies and creating insights that fuel brand storytelling. Traditional strategists hand this information off, but the idea behind Truth Be Told is to take these ideas from cradle to grave to produce and seed stories that drive at the essence of a movement.

Ken focuses on the non-profit and social responsibility sectors. Ken is also the founder of Crank, a sustainable design firm that engineers products from recycled innertubes and tinkers incessantly in his workshop at home. He graduated from the Georgetown School of Business and attended the Oxford Business program.

    About Behind the Book

    Behind the Book works directly in New York City public schools, providing rich, innovative literacy programs in urban classrooms. Behind the Book identifies books that speak to pre-K to 12th-grade students, then partners with teachers to create immersive curriculum units that bring the authors of those books into the classroom. Through a series of workshops, authors discuss their book and teach a genre of writing, encouraging students to see themselves as readers and writers.
