We just worked on a Google AdWords project and now we want to make sure that our websites are optimized across search engines. As the oldest national organization fighting for LGBT equality, we want to optimize our online presence in advance of our 40th anniversary in 2013!

Description

A Search Engine Optimization (SEO) plan helps an organization's website to rank better organically across various search engines, including Google, Yahoo and Bing. Organic ranking is determined by a variety of factors that include both on the page and off the page elements. Ranking improves over time and can take several months to show tangible results. This plan helps an organization determine how to optimize its online presence in order to strengthen its presence online and increase traffic to its site via organic searches. This plan may involve keyword research, SEO copywriting, a link building campaign and additional strategic planning.

Deliverables

  • Recommendations for optimization of on-page elements including page titles, content, meta information, internal link anchor text, image alt tags, etc.
  • A plan for a link building campaign, along with training materials and tracking documentation to ensure that the organization can continue to perform and track results after the professional has completed the project.
  • Recommendations for additional off-the-page optimization including syndicated video distribution, article distribution, blog development and social media (when applicable).
  • An in-progress link building campaign.

    Professional Prerequisites

  • At least 2 years of experience with Search Engine Optimization
  • An in-depth knowledge of link building and other off-page optimization tactics
  • A thorough understanding of how to track and record the results and online metrics
  • Organization Prerequisites

  • A website and web developer who can implement changes according to the optimization plan
  • Commitment from senior leadership to allocate human resources to maintain follow-up on link building implementation and strategy after the initial 2 months
