What We Do
The Institute for Women's Policy Research.
Informing policy. Inspiring change. Improving lives.
Through all aspects of IWPR’s work, the organization aims to be recognized as the premier think tank on research for issues that are critical to women and families. The driving force of IWPR’s research is to shine a light on areas that are still contested territory for women, while recognizing that some progress has been made both in the United States and internationally. IWPR is a leader in research that informs policy on issues affecting women. Our work aims to inspire positive changes that will help improve the lives of women in the United States and internationally.
Founded in 1987, IWPR’s reports and other informational resources have informed policies and programs across the U.S. and internationally, in each of its key program areas. Our research initiatives explore and analyze critical issues that are now part of women's lives and relevant to them and their families--at work, school, home, and in society in general.
